David Elrod Speaks at Texas Association of Defense Counsel Spring Meeting

David Elrod joined a distinguished group of speakers, including members of the Texas and United States Judiciary, at the Texas Association of Defense Counsel 2009 Spring Meeting in Austin, Texas.  Mr. Elrod presented the topic "Fact or Fiction: Are there less jury trial and trial lawyers? If so, what should we do about it?"  He discussed the current trends concerning jury trials, including the various causes of such trends, as perceived by experts and experienced trial attorneys.

Large sections of wall on the building collapsed, and investigation revealed that design and construction defects caused or contributed to the damage. When a general contractor sued the owner of a gas pipeline with claims for millions in additional compensation for alleged overages, Elrod took the case, and obtained a settlement which reduced the damages sought by the contractor by more than 80 percent.more >
