David W. Elrod and Leane Capps Medford Selected in "Super Lawyers" for 2009, Medford Selected in the "Top 50 Women"

David W. Elrod and Leane Capps Medford were honored to be selected for inclusion in "Texas Super Lawyers®" in Texas Monthly Magazine. Texas Monthly announced their selection in the October, 2009 issue. Ms. Medford was also selected as one of the "Top 50 Women" in Texas Super Lawyers 2009.

Super Lawyers employs a rigorous process based on peer evaluation, surveys of attorneys across the state and independent research to come up with the Super Lawyers list. Only 5 percent of the attorneys in Texas receive this honor each year, spanning 60 practice areas.

Elrod has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" each year since Texas Monthly began the selection process in 2003. Medford was previously selected as a “Super Lawyer” in 2007 and 2008.

Large sections of wall on the building collapsed, and investigation revealed that design and construction defects caused or contributed to the damage. When a general contractor sued the owner of a gas pipeline with claims for millions in additional compensation for alleged overages, Elrod took the case, and obtained a settlement which reduced the damages sought by the contractor by more than 80 percent.more >
